Every piece that enters Vault XLVII is more than verified — it is vetted. Our authentication process is designed to protect your investment, preserve the integrity of luxury, and ensure that what arrives at your door is exactly what it claims to be.

Step 01 — Sourcing & Intake

We source exclusively from a curated network of consignors, private collectors, and estate sales — never from mass resale platforms or unverified channels. Every item submitted to Vault XLVII is logged, photographed in full, and assigned a unique intake reference before authentication begins.

Step 02 — Physical Inspection

Each piece is examined in detail against house-specific benchmarks: hardware, stitching, stampings, date codes, font consistency, lining construction, and material composition. We cross-reference against original production specifications and known variant timelines to flag any anomalies at the material level.

Step 03 — Provenance Review

Where available, we review supporting documentation — original receipts, dust bags, authenticity cards, and service records. While provenance alone does not authenticate a piece, it contributes meaningfully to the full picture and is always disclosed in the product listing.

Step 04 — Secondary Verification

For high-value or high-risk categories — including Hermès, Chanel, and limited-edition releases — we conduct secondary verification with a qualified independent authenticator before the item is listed. This additional layer is our commitment to the highest-ticket pieces in the Vault.

Step 05 — Condition Grading & Documentation

Once authenticated, each item is assigned a condition grade — from Pristine to Good — along with detailed notes on any wear, patina, or hardware aging. High-resolution photographs are taken of every angle, interior, and identifying marking. What you see in the listing is an honest representation of what you will receive.

Step 06 — The Vault Certificate

Every authenticated piece ships with a Vault XLVII Authentication Card documenting the item's details, authentication date, and condition grade. This card travels with the piece and serves as your record of provenance within the Vault ecosystem.
